I-751 Permanent Green Card Approval in EIGHT MONTHS
US Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) is denying green card renewals – known as Removal of Conditions (Form I-751) – without asking for more documents or sending a Notice of Intent to Deny. This is why Blandon Law was overjoyed when we received an APPROVAL for a removal of conditions case in less than eight months. Read on to find out how.
Who Needs to File I-751 Removal of Conditions?
When you get a green card through your marriage to a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, the journey may come with one more important step: filing Form I-751 for Removal of Conditions within 90 days before the green card expires. If you received your green card before you had been married for two years, your permanent residence is initially conditional, which means you have to file the I-751 to remove those conditions and keep your green card for the long term. Think of it as the immigration system saying, “Okay, we believe you’re married—but let’s check in again!”
While it may feel like extra paperwork (because, well, it is), getting your green card through a qualifying family relationship is almost always the best route when it’s available to you. Family-based immigration gives you a legal foundation for permanent residence that can lead to a 10-year green card, and eventually, if you qualify, U.S. citizenship. The I-751 is simply one of the important steps along that road.
What Documents Do I Need to Get Fast I-751 Approval?
There are so many myths about Removal of Conditions. The most common is that it can take YEARS to get an I-751 approval. Other myths are that you must live with your spouse. (Actually, you can file removal of conditions while separated from your US citizen or green card holding spouse.) Which means that you can date while your I-751 removal of conditions is pending.
